Cathedral Glass III (2023) is a vinyl print originally produced for Sunday School, a solo exhibition by Bob Bicknell-Knight at Number 1 Main Road, Berlin, DE, 29th April – 23rd May 2023.
The exhibition explored predatory monetization practices within virtual experiences and the insertion of gambling mechanics into the majority of mainstream video games, interrogating how our everyday lives are becoming increasingly gamified, making connections between loot boxes in video games, gambling and how embedded Christianity is within the English school system
The work transformed the exhibition spaces window into faux stained glass panes, inspired by similar designs used in English churches, but instead made up of a variety of different loot boxes from real world video games, transformed into intricate, abstracted patterns.
