A Walk in the Woods, 2018

A Walk in the Woods, 2018
Acrylic, ink and varnish on canvas
80 x 60 cm

Part of a series of works featuring autonomous devices, from Boston Dynamics’ robot dog Spot to Google’s self-driving cars, which have journeyed out into the world, deviating from their purpose-built function.

These are some of the first hybrid paintings that Bob Bicknell-Knight produced, printing digital images onto canvas before painting onto the surface with acrylic paint.

A Walk in the Woods has been included in the following exhibitions:

– Life and Beyond, curated by Kristina Pulejkova. At Lewisham Art House, London, 8th – 12th May 2019.
– GROUND ZERO EARTH, curated by Yasmine Rix in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER), University of Cambridge. At Alison Richard Building, Cambridge, UK, 14th February – 22nd March 2019.

A Walk in the Woods is part of a private collection.
